Glass Footage Reveals James McAvoy Back As Kevin And His Personalities
It's been a while since a movie by M. Night Shyamalan was described as "highly anticipated" but that's where we stand with his forthcoming movie Glass. The follow-up to both Split and Unbreakable released a brief few moments of footage this morning, as a way to get the audience excited for the full trailer, that will be released Friday when the movie takes the stage at San Diego Comic-Con. Check out the James McAvoy focused clip below.
While the film is called Glass, a reference to the character from Unbreakable played by Samuel L. Jackson, this clip is instead focused on James McAvoy's character, and his multiple personalities that exist inside his head. Officially, McAvoy's character is named Kevin Wendell Crumb, but we never see Kevin in these moments, we see several of the other people that live inside Kevin, including, at the end, what appears to be The Beast, the vicious personality who emerged at the end of Split.
Split was an entertaining and suspenseful experience, that was turned on its head in the final moments when it was revealed that Split was taking place inside the same universe as Unbreakable, M. Night Shyamalan's superhero movie. Shortly after Split 's runaway success, it was confirmed that a new movie was planned that would bring all the characters of the two films together.
With the trailer for Glass set to debut on Friday, and this James McAvoy focused teaser released on a Tuesday, it's a safe bet that Wednesday and Thursday will see a pair of additional teasers released to focus on Samuel L. Jackson's Mr. Glass and Bruce Willis' David Dunn.
Glass is being given a major platform this year as it will be one of the films in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con which gets underway later this week. While part of the reason for that may be that some major players, like Marvel, won't be showing in Hall H, it still shows that Glass is a major production that fans are excited about. Those in Hall H will likely be the first to see the new trailer, but it's at least confirmed now that the trailer will be released online after it is shown in the panel. While the majority of content these days does hit the internet after its SDCC debut, there's always the possibility that some of it will be held as an exclusive for the panel.
