When you join the Mission: Impossible franchise, there's never a guarantee that you will be able to stick around. Keri Russell was a one-and-done contributor after joining in Mission: Impossible 3. So even though Rebecca Ferguson turned heads and won hearts as Ilsa Faust in Chris McQuarrie's Mission: Impossible -- Rogue Nation, the actress recently told CinemaBlend that it was no guarantee that she'd return for Fallout.

Because they can't guarantee it. I think it's very much down to how... I mean, I don't know how it works. I think it is how well [the film] is received. And what people write about it. They might go, 'Who the beep-ing heck is that? Get her out of there!'

That didn't happen. Quite the opposite. Die-hard Mission: Impossible fans actually loved the chemistry between Ethan Hunt and former MI6 agent Ilsa Faust (and the bond between Tom Cruise and Rebecca Ferguson), so Christopher McQuarrie made sure to bring Faust back for the mission in Fallout. Naturally, explaining how Ilsa fits in to this current story would be a big reveal that's better learned in the cinema. But we can tell from the trailers that Ethan's not going to let this woman stand in his way. There's even a moment in the commercials where Ethan runs Ilsa over while he's in a car and she's on a motorcycle in Paris. So yeah, it's complicated.

Ethan and Ilsa teamed up to stop The Syndicate and its leader, Soloman Lane (Sean Harris), in Rogue Nation. But by the end of that movie, their mission was complete. Lane was detained. So it was very possible that Rebecca Ferguson would join the long list of Impossible beauties who only appeared in one film. However, with Chris McQuarrie back in the director's chair, he made sure to write Ilsa Faust back into the mix, and once you see how Fallout plays out, you will understand why that was the right call.

MoviePass Has Brought Unlimited Back But With A Bunch Of Restrictions

If youre an avid movie fan who wants to see everything from the smallest indies to the biggest blockbusters in theater, MoviePass unlimited plan where you could see 1 movie a day for $10 a month, was like a dream come true. That unlimited plan was one of the casualties of MoviePass tumultuous 2018, that saw it struggle financially and make frequent changes to its offerings. Now MoviePass has brought unlimited backwith a bunch of restrictions.

MoviePass new unlimited plan is dubbed MoviePass Uncapped and on the surface it looks a lot like the unlimited plan that rocketed the service to millions of subscribers. MoviePass Uncapped offers subscribers an unlimited number of 2D movie screenings each month (no repeat viewings) for $19.95 a month. But for a limited time, if you pay for a full year in advance, that price comes down to $9.95 a month or about $120 for the year.

So basically, if you pay the year upfront, you are getting the same attractive price that made MoviePass such a disruptive service in the first place. However, if you are wary of the service and dont want to commit for a full year, you can still take advantage of a discounted rate of $14.95 a month for a limited time.

Once that limited time offer expires (it was not announced when that will be) the plans go back up to $19.95 for month-to-month and $14.95 a month for the annual plan. It sounds like a pretty good deal for moviegoers but being a great deal is what saw MoviePass burning through cash like the Joker burns through mob money, so there are a bunch of caveats.

As reported by TechCrunch, MoviePass announcement includes several notable restrictions that will presumably help it to stay afloat. For one, the best deal on the Uncapped plan, where you get unlimited movie tickets for $9.95 a year when paid in advance, requires subscribers to pay via e-check or automated clearinghouse. This would theoretically cut down on credit card processing fees for MoviePass, but the ACH option would require subscribers to give the service their bank account information.

In addition and probably the most eyebrow-raising restriction is that with the Uncapped plan, MoviePass reserves the right to limit your movie selection based on the movie title, your theater choice, the day and showtime and the individuals historical usage. You may be restricted if your individual use negatively impacts the capacity and availability of the service for other subscribers.

So if you are the kind of person who wants to really take advantage of this unlimited plan, you may find that there is a cap to how many movies you can see with the Uncapped plan. MoviePass is endeavoring for more transparency this time around though and is very upfront about these potential restrictions on the companys website.

Another caveat is that youll only be able to reserve tickets for a movie three hours before showtime and once youve reserved your tickets, you need to check in at the theater between 10 and 30 minutes before the film starts. This new plan also replaces the three-tiers of plans MoviePass introduced in December as part of the brands relaunch, although those who already signed up for those can keep them.

To try and combat fraud, the new terms of service also will still require ticket verification. Location services on the app will also be used to validate the location of the theater to confirm that you are using the service yourself. Apparently this will be used at the start of the movie and during its runtime to verify you are there. How that will work if you turn off your phone during a movie is unclear.

As always, MoviePass latest move comes with more questions than answers and well have to wait and see how it works out in practice. Will subscribers be constantly locked out from seeing the movies they want (Avengers: Endgame?) and wether or not this plan is financially sustainable are the two biggest things that come to mind.

Still, despite the many restrictions and uncertainty, if the Uncapped plan works like you would hope, it could be a great deal. Even without the discounts, the $20 a month price point is right around what AMC Stubs A-List costs and this gets you more movies, albeit not 3D or premium showings. That makes it a solid value if you want to see a lot of movies, the big unknown is whether or not MoviePass will let you.

New Ghostbusters Director Apologizes For Comments About All-Female Sequel

Recently, Jason Reitman, who is getting ready to direct a brand new Ghostbusters movie, spoke a bit about his upcoming project, but in doing so, appears to have put his foot squarely in his mouth. Some of the director's comments have been taken to be critical of the 2016 female-led Ghostbusters reboot, and Reitman has now taken to social media to insist that he never meant any insult. Wo, that came out wrong! I have nothing but admiration for Paul and Leslie and Kate and Melissa and Kristen and the bravery with which they made Ghostbusters 2016. They expanded the universe and made an amazing movie!

Earlier this week, Reitman appeared on Bill Burr's Monday Morning Podcast and spoke a bit about the history of the Ghostbusters franchise, his own place in it, as the son of director Ivan Reitman who helmed the first two movies, and teased his upcoming film, which will take the movies back to the universe of the first two films. He spoke about how the teaser for his new film was produced using similar techniques to the original movie, but then followed that up by saying the new film would "hand the movie back to the fans."

The idea that the new movie would hand the films back to the fans would seem to imply that at some point the franchise had been taken away from the fans, leading many to be critical of Jason Reitman's comments, as they seemed to be a shot at the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot directed by Paul Feig and starring Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy and Leslie Jones.

That movie was itself dealing with controversy as a vocal contingent of fans attacked the production before it ever got started for making the decision to cast four women as the Ghostbusters team rather than bringing back the original cast. Jason Reitman's movie is expected to bring the original cast back, though exactly how they will fit into the story has not been revealed.

Reitman now says his comments were not meant to be critical of that film, he goes so far as to call it an amazing movie.

All of this certainly does show that the Ghostbusters fan situation isn't going to be calming down anytime soon. Many that liked the Ghostbusters reboot are looking toward the newly announced film with the same skepticism that the reboot was treated to by fans of the original movies. Leslie Jones herself has called the move to make this new movie so soon after the reboot "insulting."

The new Ghostbusters will start filming later this year with plans to release the film in the summer of 2020. You can be sure interest in this one will remain high, and probably at least slightly controversial.
