Video Gives Avengers' Hawkeye His Day, And Shows Every Single Kill He's Had
It's arguable to say that Hawkeye is the most underrated of the Avengers, as it's tough to stick out amongst gods and monsters when all you've got is a bow and arrow, but that's partially what's so appealing about the character. Fans have debated just how useful Hawkeye is in combat, and it turns out that he's doing a lot more work out there than it appears. One fan took the time to count all of Hawkeye's kills through two Avengers movies, showing the archer has potentially defeated well over 50 enemies by himself. Check it out!
People were begging to find out what was going on with Hawkeye when it first became clear that he wasn't going to be in Avengers: Infinity War. Clint Barton ended up being one of the few characters to sit out of the movie, but he'll be returning with a vengeance in Avengers 4. Even though Hawkeye wasn't there for the battle in Wakanda, you have to wonder how much of a difference he really would have made against Thanos. We'll never know the answer to that, but now we at least have an idea of how many foot soldiers he could have wiped out.
Youtuber Matt Solazzo cataloged every single enemy Hawkeye killed on screen in both The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron, which are the two movies that best showcase his skillset, since Hawkeye didn't kill anyone in Captain America: Civil War. The video breaks it all down into confirmed and assumed kills, with assumed kills happening when Hawkeye fires an arrow, but we don't see it land. Considering Hawkeye has perfect aim, he probably hit something, but to avoid nitpicking, those kills are labeled as assumed. Interestingly, the video also tracks the number of arrows Hawkeye uses and recovers.
In The Avengers, Hawkeye had a total of 19 confirmed kills and 29 assumed kills. Because we only see Hawkeye fire nine arrows (six of which he recovered) and his quiver holds a total of 32, which were all used, the video theorizes that the kill count can likely be tripled to 57. Not bad for just one guy. In Age of Ultron, Hawkeye killed 21 robots and is assumed to have shot a total of 26 with 19 arrows used. Robots are a lot harder to kill, so good on you, Hawkeye!
We'll have to wait and see how Hawkeye performs in Avengers 4. Hopefully, his skills haven't gotten too rusty but considering Hawkeye is supposed to have a dark storyline, he's likely out for blood. Fans will be able to see Hawkeye and the rest of the team in action in Avengers 4, which is expected to hit theaters on May 3, 2019. To learn more about the movie, here's everything we know so far.
During his Fatman on Batman podcast (soon to be rebranded to Fatman Beyond), Smith gave a brief update on the Jay and Silent Bob sequel and said that he had to rewrite a bunch of jokes in the script. They were fat jokes aimed at his character, which obviously wouldn't make much sense anymore, given that Smith is not as heavy as he used to be.
