New Avengers: Infinity War Covers Reveal Iron Man's Spectacular Upgrades

It's weird to say this out loud, after waiting for so long to make it a reality, but Joe and Anthony Russo's Avengers: Infinity War comes out NEXT month! Because the blockbuster shifted its release date up a week, Infinity War is now an April release, and that means the marketing has to kick into full gear. A set of magazine covers dropped that give us new looks at familiar characters, and while each MCU icon has a spiffy new look, it's Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) who is sporting the greatest upgrades.

The text on these collectible EW covers claim that they will be diving deep into 22 heroes, 6 infinity stones, and one Mad Titan, played by Josh Brolin. We can see Tom Holland's Spider-Man sporting his Iron Spider suit on one cover, and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) with his CGI eye patch. But when we get to Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), the changes are more pronounced.

EW's cover calls this the Bleeding Edge armor, and it comes equipped with rocket thrusters that spring from the hero's arms and back. They will allow Tony Stark to "propel himself into deep space." So that's new. Here's a Tweet of the Iron Man cover, to get a better look at the upgraded rockets that will allow Tony to take the fight to Thanos.

Iron Man isn't the only hero who will be beefing up his weaponry in order to join the fight against Thanos. As we saw in the most recent trailer, King T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) wants Captain America to get a shield, and I assume that the gauntlets on Cap's hands have been created in a Wakandan lab by the genius Shuri (Letitia Wright). We can see them on Cap's cover. Fighting alongside Chris Evans' star-spangled Avenger will be his best friend Bucky (Sebastian Stan), who has a new arm. Also, I assume, thanks to Shuri. When we saw him in the Black Panther end credits, he had no arm. But by this time the Infinity War kicks off Bucky will be armed and ready for battle.
