Watch All The Big MCU Stars Come Together For An Amazing Class Photo
Aside from 2018 bringing us Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War and Ant-Man and the Wasp, this year also marks the 10th anniversary of the Marvel Cinematic Universe began. Yes, when May comes around, it will be exactly a decade since Iron Man was released and this franchise launched, and just look at what this world has become since we watched Tony Stark build armor in a cave with a box of scraps. To celebrate this momentous occasion, Marvel Studios brought many of the MCU's biggest stars together a few months back for a "class photo," which was chronicled in the following video.
On October 7 last year, 79 actors and filmmakers from across the MCU came together to pose for this class photo, which is definitely yearbook worthy. At that point in the year, Avengers 4 and Ant-Man and the Wasp were simultaneously shooting at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, so it was easy enough to bring all these folks together under one roof. From Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson to Terrence Howard and Pom Klementieff, all corners of the MCU were represented in one form or another, and you can tell that they're grateful to be part of this pop culture sensation. Going back to the video, let's pause for a minute on that quick shot of Jeremy Renner, a.k.a. Marvel's leading archer, Hawkeye (whose hair looks amazing, by the way).
If you've been keeping a close eye on the Avengers: Infinity War marketing, you've noticed that aside from being shown in the concept art banner from 2017's San Diego Comic-Con, Hawkeye hasn't received any attention for his role in the upcoming movie. He didn't even get his own Twitter emoji this past Sunday in the lead-up to the Infinity War Super Bowl TV spot! So it's good to see Renner's getting some acknowledgement, but still, let's point the spotlight on Hawkeye for a little bit in future Infinity War promos.
Along with the 10th anniversary class photo and accompanying video, Marvel also released a new banner to celebrate the MCU's 10th anniversary, showing off many of this world's most important characters. But remember, this isn't the end. As Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said at the end of the video, "It's been 10 years in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Here's to 10 more." This franchise isn't leaving the silver screen anytime soon.
