Actress Tessa Thompson has been gaining momentum with roles in some of the most buzzed about movies and television shows, certainly keeping her quite busy. Recently, two of her most memorable looks, each distinctive from the other, were as warrior Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok and as Cassius Green's activist girlfriend, Detroit in indie-comedy Sorry to Bother You. When Thompson was shooting Sorry to Bother You however, she was also juggling reshoots for Ragnarok on the weekends, posing a bit of a problem -- Valkyrie doesn't have Detroit's neon-orange curls. Disney was then faced with having to make Thompson a $10,000 wig to replicate her natural long and flowing black hair to match the rest of the film, though the studio was apparently not too happy with the expense of this compromise. Awkward.

Sorry to Bother You writer-director Boots Riley told Huffington Post about the fiasco, admitting that he felt a little guilty about it. Riley reached out to Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi who assured him there were no hard feelings from him, even commenting, "It's not my money!" The Marvel film had a $180 million budget and has scored $853 million worldwide, so Tessa Thompson's wig should have barely made a dent in Disney's wallet. In comparison, Sorry to Bother You cost just $3.2 million to make and barely cracked $15 million in earnings despite its critical acclaim and public support from Get Out director, Jordan Peele, who bought out an entire theater in Los Angeles to show his love for it. The dark comedy follows a young African-American telemarketer who opts for a white accent to become successful at his job, set in an alternative reality of present-day Oakland, CA. Considering how well Disney makes with each new huge release, we doubt they were bothered by Thompson's wig cost for too long.

Disney didn't, however, have it as bad as the Warner Bros. did with "Mustachegate." Henry Cavill was in the middle of a similar issue with a much bigger price tag when he was shooting Mission: Impossible -- Fallout and had to also do reshoots for Justice League. Cavill's Mission: Impossible mustache had to be digitally removed out of scenes in Justice League, reportedly costing the movie studio $3 million. Fallout director Christopher McQuarrie recently explained the awkward situation between Paramount in Warner Bros. expressing how terrible he felt for the "unfortunate set of circumstances" which they couldn't find a way around.

In comparison, the $10,000 situation doesn't seem too bad. If the cost of Tessa Thompson's expensive wig debacle comes with the perk of getting to see her kill it as both Valkyrie and Detroit on the big screen within the same year, we're here for it, especially since Disney's big bucks are paying the bill.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is in a state of flux, as the shocking events of Avengers: Infinity War changed everything. The big surprise ending was that Thanos actually succeeded, and was able to destroy half of the galaxy with the snap of a finger. It's unclear how the remaining heroes will be able to come back from this, with Marvel Studios keeping very tight lipped, including the title of Avengers 4. Unfortunately, the film's cinematographer Trent Opaloch may have spoiled the title via his professional website. Opaloch's full resume is listed, including the possible title of Avengers 4.

According to Trent Opaloch's website (via Omega Underground), his most recent film credit is the upcoming Avengers movie, which he had listed as Avengers: End Game. While far from an official confirmation, this possible title has the emotional weight that would logically follow Thanos' victory. Furthermore, it could have grave consequences for the MCU as a whole.

If Trent Opaloch's website is to be believed, The Russo Brothers may be crafting an even bigger and more devastating blockbuster with Avengers 4. After Thanos turned so many characters into dust, the fandom began debating how they might return to the world of the living. With movies like Spider-Man: Far From Home and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 previously announced, it stands to reason that they'd pop back up. But End Game sounds finite, meaning that the MCU may not reverse Thanos' path of destruction after all.

There have already been plenty of rumors regarding Avengers 4's title, although the involvement of a crew member in this latest one adds some credibility. Unfortunately, we're likely not going to hear anything from Marvel studios anytime soon. Kevin Feige has revealed that we won't learn the title of the next Avengers flick until Captain Marvel's trailers first arrive. And since Brie Larson's solo film won't hit theaters until March of next year, we better buckle up and enjoy the ride (and Ant-Man and The Wasp) in the meantime.

Anticipation for Avengers 4 is at a fever pitch after Infinity War, and excitement likely isn't going to die down in the coming months. A ton of beloved heroes were lost throughout the course of behemoth blockbuster, more than even the most cynical of fans could have anticipated. Unfortunately, the Russo Brothers' two Avengers flicks are separated by a year, forcing the rabid fandom to attempt some patience. And while there are to blockbusters coming with Ant-Man and The Wasp and Captain Marvel, all fans are wondering is if/how the fallen heroes might return from the dead. But if Avengers 4 is really the End Game of the property, then maybe the Marvel Studios has more surprising twists ahead.

How A Wrinkle In Time Will Stand Apart From Other Disney Movies, According To Ava DuVernay

Many of us likely have a specific idea in our heads when we think of a Disney movie. The idea quickly conjures images of bright and cheerful stories in the vein of The Lion King or Beauty and the Beast. However, that's not what Ava DuVernay's A Wrinkle in Time will feel like when it debuts. In fact, during a visit to the set of the film last year, DuVernay opened up to CinemaBlend and other outlets and explained that this take on A Wrinkle in Time would embrace the darker edges of Madeleine L'Engle's source material, which will make it feel distinct from other films in the Disney canon. DuVernay explained:

I feel like it's not a shiny, bright Disney movie. I love shiny, bright Disney movies, but this is a movie that embraces a bit of a quirkier, darker edge, like the book. This book is one of the most banned books in American literature, which is why I love it.

Even though A Wrinkle in Time is being released under the Disney banner, it appears that it won't take the form of a story aimed squarely at children. The original novel written by Madeleine L'Engle has long been hailed as a controversial piece of literature, and the film will embrace those ideas with a "quirkier, darker edge" than we might be used to seeing from other Disney movies. It's a book that plays on some potentially disturbing themes about evil and free will, as well as essential notions about the nature of the universe, and the film version of the tale apparently won't shy away from those ideas.

However, it's not just the obvious differences that set A Wrinkle in Time apart from other Disney movies. Ava DuVernay continued in her description of the story and explained that much of the appeal in a story like A Wrinkle in Time is the fact that so much of it is open for interpretation, which Disney allowed her to embrace in the creation of the film. DuVernay continued:

There's so much going on in this book, and there's so many layers and different parts of the story. People take from it what is important to them. Some people might watch this and see a sci-fi adventure, some might watch it and see romance, some might watch it and see a story about math nerds, some might watch it and see girl power, and others might watch it and see a family story. I see a cool, quirky, dark, odd and grand adventure of a girl searching the universe for her father, and she finds herself. The way the film looks is very not traditional Disney. They've been really great in allowing me aesthetic latitude to really bring my filmmaking style into it, which is awesome, and they never said no to anything. All of the choices, in terms of the cast and the diversity of the cast, and the diversity of the crew, which is not normal to see this many women and people of color on a crew, they've just been supportive and encouraging of. I don't know how I got here, but I'm here.

She's not wrong in that assessment. As Ava DuVernay laid out in those comments, a story like A Wrinkle in Time comes steeped in subjective subtext, which means that it's easy to interpret the narrative and aesthetic in a variety of different ways. Some view it as a religious allegory, while others see it in the purest of science fiction terms, and that naturally lends A Wrinkle in Time to various visual styles. As a result, it sounds like the folks at Disney embraced that idea and allowed the Selma director to go all in on her vision of a dark, bold, and delightfully weird version of the classic story, and our early glimpses at that style promise something that's nothing if not visually awesome.
